Sweatshirt Season

Moonlit mornings, frosty starts and laddered tights are what can spring to mind when it comes to the winter months. The summer still feels like forever away, while the satisfying season of mulled wine and mince pies seems like a distant memory. We're officially mid-season, meaning we're at that awkward stage of the year where we don't know whether to brave the winds in a sleek shirt dress or hibernate until March in our favourite Uggs and skinny's combo.

Snuggling up in a fleece lined layer can make that 6am wake up call that bit more bearable. Turn your off-duty sweatshirt into an office friendly outfit with the addition of a leather skirt. If you're feeling brave - ditch the opaques in favour of bare legs and ankle boots for a look that will take you from your morning commute to Friday night cocktails without the need of a 5pm change. Take your sweatshirt into the new season by choosing one with a Spring-ready floral design; this embroidered piece from New Look will look just as stylish now teamed with red lips and over the knee boots as it will in April with your favourite sneakers and baseball cap.

Spring Time In The City

It's that beautiful time of year again. Flowers are blossoming, new born lambs are pottering around farms and the delicate aroma of romance is swirling through the air. It's wedding season; meaning we have the perfect excuse to buy a new outfit.

Avoid the wedding guest cliche and step away from the floral tea dresses - instead modernize the look and place some elegant flowers in your hair. A simple pink dress will look gorgeous in wedding photos; the girlie colour injects a flirtatious amount of romance in to the look while still remaining glamorous. This sophisticated mini dress is the perfect day to night dress. The flattering, yet understated shape glides over a multitude of sins - meaning you can indulge in as much wedding cake and Prosecco as you wish! To avoid risks of upstaging the bride - keep accessories simple. Rose gold jewels look gorgeous against any skin colour; style with a simple pair of earrings, an elegant necklace and an oversized clutch to channel the hopeless romantic in us all.

Hyper Floral

Pack a punch with some hyper florals this Spring. Flowers are everywhere we look; they're blooming in our gardens, weaved into hair garlands and cascaded over our manicures. It's now time to take the trend one step further and inject some flower power into our wardrobes.

This New Look jumpsuit is the perfect transition piece to keep you looking fresh through the summer drizzle. The loose fit keeps your silhouette looking sleek while the long leg length means you can team it with a pair of killer heels to fake super model pins. If you don't want to lace your entire body in the earthy print - break up the design with a belt. This gold chain belt adds the perfect amount of glamour to the look while clinching in your waist creating enviable curves.

Transform the look into a 70s masterpiece by teaming your jumpsuit with an over sized floppy hat and brown chunky wedges. If you don't want to work such a strong vintage vibe - simply drape a gold necklace on your chest, slide some sunglasses through your hair and smile like a Bohemian goddess.

Punk Princess

Tick off two trends and invest in a tartan pencil skirt. The figure skimming skirt shows off your feminine curves without having to freeze your little legs off in a mini. The 90s are still a huge influence this season and featured heavily at LWF. An array of models and street stylers were spotted reviving the era by wandering around Somerset House in tartan, studs and leather. Punk icons such as the Sex Pistols, Debbie Harry and Courtney Love appear to have inspired the latest collections hitting the catwalks. Team your tartan with with a simple black vest. Embellish your outfit in as many gold chains and studs you can find. Don't be scared to pile on the bling; more is definitely more. To finish off the look, rough up your hair and slick on a pair of over sized shades. Not only will they give you a cool rock star vibe - they do a pretty good job of a late night or two...

Dazzle in Denim

B*Witched might not be doing the Big Reunion any more, but that doesn't mean we can't still take some style inspiration from their 90s wardrobes. Double denim is as hot as ever; whether your chilling out in jeans or teaming your shirt with a chic skater skirt - denim on denim is a killer combo. Shirts made out of the much loved material are a great way to keep you hot under the collar this season. The loose fit makes for a relaxed look and hides that burger belly you've been harbouring since lunch time. Team yours with a statement necklace to keep it interesting and keep the rest simple. If your not feeling nostalgic for lashings of denim; rock your shirt with some disco pants. The shiny trouser still makes a statement without the risk of looking like an extra in a Levis advert. How ever you decide to work yours - make sure you top off your look with a pair of black ankle boots.

Maximum Impact in Midi Skirt

A Postcard From Brighton - £29.95
New Look - £8 SALE
Miss Selfridge - £45
Zara - £19.99 SALE

The Sunshine might be out in full beam but it's not had to reminisce a time when the rain dampened our day - and wardrobes! In a summer of unpredictable weather its hard to find a skirt to rely on. A wardrobe crammed with short skirts might seem like a good idea win theory but when you're faced with the unpredictable British weather - something a little longer might be a better idea! The midi-skirt has become a fashion crutch to those who want to appear stylish and summery. The below the knee skirt oozes sophistication (and keeps your unwaxed legs firmly hidden on those 'can't be bothered days').

The skirt allows you to be adventurous with colour - New Look do a dazzling yellow design so you can be  as eye - catching as the sun itself. If your not brave enough to embellish your body in summer brights - check out the brand A postcard from Brighton for this monochrome beauty. The tight skirt gives instant sex appeal for when you're feeling wicked and the stretchy fabric allows maximum comfort. Gorgeous!

Embrace The Power Of Flower

Parks and gardens are laced in weaves of pretty pansies, romantic roses, dazzling daffodils and of course - lashings dainty of daisies! Summer is in full swing and flowers are blossoming everywhere. It is getting impossible to stroll through a patch of grass with out spotting some form of delicate flower in bloom.

The same almost goes for the S/S catwalks '12. Designers draped their models in the fanciest of florals giving the room a glorious summer vibe. The high street has followed form and has produced some bloomin' wonderful designs! Get it?

Kelly Brook has designed a gorgeous lady-like satchel for New Look. The gorgeous bag brings glamour to any outfit and the nude base colour means there is not much it won't go with. Motel, Debenhams and Lipsy have well and truly embraced the floral trend and designed some bold flowered prints on a white base to ensure full impact! For those who don't feel quite so brave - Miss Selfridge do a wonderful bodyshaper with muted peach and blue tones! Beautiful!
